It’s great to be able to share that excitement with our partners and guests, to tell the story of the incredible engineering and technology journey we’re on. Why Remote Work will be the New Normal (even after the Coronavirus abates)
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the world in the short term, from both a personal and business perspective. Life will inevitably return to some kind of normal but the way we work will never be the same, and that will be good for us all.

Changing Expectations in the Post Covid World
During the pandemic, employees, employers, consumers, sellers and organisations all had to reset our expectations to a new way of living. One that required us to socially distance ourselves from each other and in many cases required businesses to close down or completely change the way that they were doing things. We were all forced to build in a level of tolerance as we were all in the same situation and it would only be for the short term. Now months later, in many countries we are still in the same situation with the same restrictions, yet our patience is running thin. So what do organisations, employers, governments and regulators need to do to ensure that they can continue to serve their customers and keep their employees safe and motivated? During this session we will look at the changing expectations the pandemic has brought and how to prepare for the next shift.

She works with three teams, financial services and insurance, central government and Enterprise, which is a mixture of verticals, but with a focus on retail and utilities.
With a passion for Technology for Good, she recently published her first advertorial in MyGreenPod, the sustainability supplement for The Guardian, on how old and redundant laptops and desktops could be repurposed in order to help address the #digitialdivide which has become more visible with remote teaching during lockdown.

Re-inventing Customer Mindset
In an ever-evolving technology world our clocks are ticking faster than before. This emerges the need to accelerate to keep up with the pace of changes. New technologies, new rules, new jargon, new acronyms. Some companies are more flexible and adapt to new environments and new conditions whereas others have a constant phobia of changing. Citrix is the glue that connects both old fashioned companies that want to maintain their status quo and more future-looking industries with an evolution to a higher state of management, security, insight, and control. Citrix has the perfect solution set to meet the requirements of every different scenario.

Work 2035 - How People and Technology will Pioneer New Ways of Working
"Nowhere is our future more in flux than the future of work. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many organisations to revolutionise their ways of working almost overnight and brought the future of work to the present. Remote work has become the “new normal,” and companies are making it part of their long-term strategies to ensure business continuity. Work will never be the same again. Yet it remains central to what it means to be human. Work gives us meaning and for centuries labour, driven by both humans and technology, has enabled remarkable advances in human life expectancy, prosperity and achievement.

How will this relationship between the workforce, work models and work environment evolve? And how can we as business leaders, policymakers and individuals see further into the forces that will shape our future and bring about the future we want? We asked some of the world’s most respected academics, business leaders and employees across the US and Europe to join us in imagining what the future of work might look like in 2035, the opportunities and threats it might hold, and how people and technology may work together to generate value.

This exercise raised the fundamental questions that must be faced by every business and government organisation in their long-term strategic planning. How will workers be organised to deliver value? How will people partner with technology and will we see the emergence of human-machine teaming? What new opportunities will workers be afforded and what novel pitfalls will they face? How might governments and supranational entities respond with regulation to support workers and ensure competition in the new world of work?

In this session Tim Minahan Executive Vice President, Business Strategy and Chief Marketing Officer will discuss the research with Safi Obeidullah Field Chief Technology Officer. They will talk through various topics including Artificial Intelligence and what it could mean for workers and leaders and how savvy companies are using this crisis as an opportunity to rethink their workforce strategies – using technology enabled remote work models to tap into new skills and talent that are beyond commuting distance to one of their traditional work hubs.
